I’m excited! As I think about what I’m about to do, I still
can’t believe I’m doing it.
Thank you all for the encouraging words and prayers. It's good to know I have people thinking about me and praying for me while I'm out there.
My next post will be after day one of the hike. Talk to you then!
I don’t know how in shape I am physically, I’ve been in
better shape before. In fact, I might be in the worse shape physically than I’ve
ever been.
I don’t know if I’m fully prepared. I’ve read and studied,
but I guess I’ll learn as I go.
Am I ready? I don’t know – how ready can someone be to do
something like this? Something they’ve read a whole lot about but never done. Something
they’ve planned for years and is now happening.
I’ve read that it’s not about the shape you’re in as much as
the attitude that you are going to finish no matter what. It’s more mental than
physical.
From that point, yes, I believe I’m ready.

Don, it's one of those things that no matter how much u read and prepare you will really learn what you need (and don't need) through experience. I wouldn't worry too much about the shape you are in. it is indeed a mental game more than a physical one. I will be praying for you and encouraging you to enjoy this time in Nature surrounded by the love and beauty of the Father. All the best, Kelly aka RainDrop
